Description
Level 3
The level 3 course is the next step after achieving level 2. The theoretical knowledge and practical ability is assumed to be at the level 2 standard. We would hope that during this course the participant would consolidate skills previously learnt & try new ones. The course consists of developing sailing skills and techniques, with a range of manoeuvres from the advanced modules. Once level 3 has been achieved the sailor will be confident to sail and perform manoeuvres on the water in good conditions, sailing in all directions & ready to progress to the advanced modules.
If you have your own wet gear such as a buoyancy aid or wetsuit, we recommend you wear this as you know it fits and is comfortable. Suitable footwear is required to be worn while on the course, this could be wetsuit boots, wet shoes or old trainers. We do not allow flip flops and we do not recommend crocs.
If you don’t have your own kit, we can provide equipment for you whilst on your sailing course, this can include wetsuits, spray tops and buoyancy aids. We do not provide footwear.
Even if the weather is overcast, we would recommend wearing sun cream, on hot & sunny days a sun hat & sunglasses is a good idea. Water bottles can be taken out to stay hydrated & there is a free water filling station on the dinghy park
The next step once the level 3 has been achieved is to move on to the advanced modules. Dinghy Start Racing & Dinghy Day Sailing
