This course is to provide a practical introduction to boat handling and safety in powerboats. This course may be conducted in a variety of boats, if delivering this course to juniors we tend to use a tiller steer bit instead of a larger boat with a console. This is a great course to get you started in a powerboat if you have no experience at all and will also be a stepping stone to develop a useful crew.
Minimum age: Eight years old
Endorsements: If aged 8 – 11 years and therefore should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult on board the craft.
If aged 12 – 15 years, therefore the holder should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult.

After lengthy consideration, taking into account staffing and operational factors involved in running dinghy sailing at our centre,
we regretfully have had to make the decision to no longer offer sailing at our centre from 2026.
This has been a very difficult decision, and we would like to thank all our staff and valued customers for their support over the past few years.
The centre will now become Camel Powerboat Centre, offering a more extensive range of powerboat courses,
from Level 1 through to Advanced, including inshore-based courses such as VHF, First Aid, and Navigation.
