Powerboat Courses

RYA Level 1 – provides a practical introduction to boat handling skills, ideal for youngsters who will be supervised by someone with a RYA Level 2 qualification to get a bit hands on.

RYA Level 2 – Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of International Certificate of Competence.  Anyone who is thinking of purchasing or has purchased a powerboat should start with this course – can be done in our Rib or if you have your own boat then it’s better to do it in that.

RYA Intermediate and Advanced – provides the skills and background knowledge needed by powerboat drivers operating by day (intermediate) or night (advanced) in known or unfamiliar waters, the skipper’s role and boat handling in more demanding conditions.  Not available in June, July and August.

RYA Safety Boat – provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes and for racing or training activities.
