RYA YOUTH SAILING SCHEME
RYA certificates are a significant achievement. Instructors sign off each skill as you complete it. Once completed, your certificate can be of use in other areas of your study or activities such as PE at school, or the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
START SAILING STAGE 1
Beginners course for young people age 10+. We can take children from age 8, however, it is not recommended as the course is an intensive two days which can prove too much to take. Please see our hourly tuition for sailing in smaller "bites".

Junior course continuing on from Start Sailing Stage 3.

| ABILITY AFTER COURSE | Can launch & return to the beach, jetty or mooring. Can sail a crewed dinghy around a triangle in moderate conditions. |

SAILING COURSES - ADULT (14 yrs +)
DINGHY LEVEL 1 - Start Sailing
An introduction to the sport, covering a minimum knowledge required to get affloat under supervision. It will give you a basic understanding of boat handling techniques & background knowledge.

DINGHY LEVEL 2 - Basic Skills
This course sets out the foundations of sailing for you. It helps you to become a competent sailor in light winds with an introduction to sailing techniques & manoeuvres, rigging, launching, safety, capsize recovery & basic rules of the road.

How to handle a boat in more challenging circumstances & solve problems affloat. This will teach you to sail in a seamanlike manner & make seamanship decisions in moderate conditions.

DINGHY DAY SAILING
Passage planning & decision making for small boat cruising, giving you a confident, safe approach to planning & executing a short cruise in a dinghy, keelboat or multihul.

DINGHY SAILING WITH SPINNAKERS
Everything you need to know about sailing modern three-sail boats. This course teaches you how to use an asymmetric or symmetric spinnaker.
