Welcome to the Camel Sailing School
Teach your family to sail on the beautiful River Camel Estuary – at Rock, a sailor’s haven with crystal clear waters and safe sandy beaches.
Located next to Rock’s pontoon, just 6 miles from Wadebridge, or a 10 minute ferry ride across the river from Padstow, we welcome beginners and experienced sailors of all ages. We do everything we can to ensure a visit to Camel Sailing is one of the highlights of your holiday, providing a great memory of an exciting experience in a beautiful location. For many first time customers it becomes the start of a journey through this healthy, sociable, fun and challenging Olympic sport, which can provide enjoyment for all ages.
We have a wide range of boats to suit all tastes and abilities, starting with Laser Picos (ideal for youngsters learning) and RS Fevas (fashionable first racing dinghies favoured by teenagers). We have classic Wayfarer dinghies, exhilarating Hobie Catamarans and high performance racers like the Laser 2 and Laser 2000. Finally, we have our larger and very stable Drascombe Lugger, a six person heritage keelboat with brown sails, which is perfect for a quiet fishing trip around the estuary or a family picnic on a trip up the River Camel to Wadebridge.
If you are already a competent sailor, or even have your own boat, you might want to consider polishing up your racing skills, ready to pit your wits in good natured competition against like minded families entering our friendly local competitions, particularly during sailing festivals such as Camel Week in August and Junior Camel Week in July. Each week during the season there will be racing or race practice of one type or another, and you will be more than welcome to participate.
Our Bookings Office opens for the 2012 Sailing Season on Monday the 12th March, so for more detailed information please give us a call on our new number 01208 540001 to email office@CamelSailing.co.uk.
